Morgan County Commissioners took care of a few items during a meeting this morning.
Bills in the amount of about $58,300 were paid. Ruell Wright was appointed to replace Phil Fromme as a trustee in the Alexander Fire Protection District.
Commissioner Ginny Fanning issued a reminder that the Morgan County Cleanup Day is happening May 7th at Buster Sanitation, and that old televisions will be accepted.
Commissioner Brad Zeller noted the county has still not received a formal notification from the state on paying back an overpayment on taxes.
The Illinois Department of Revenue announced Tuesday that an error has resulted in the overpayment of an estimated $168 million to the taxing districts that receive Personal Property Replacement Tax funding. Morgan County, and it’s road districts, owe the state nearly $100-thousand.
