Morgan County is one of 12 Midwest finalists for a Fairground Facelift grant.

The counties with the highest voting totals over the next two weeks will receive grants ranging from $500 and $2,000.

Morgan County Fair Association Public Relations Chair Cameron Jones explains what the grants would be used for in Morgan County.

“The fairgrounds is taking on many projects to try and improve the fairgrounds for general community use. We sent in four or five projects for the consideration for this grant. The project that was chosen as a finalist was to replace some of the poles on one of the cattle barns, which has been rotting. As the state funding as continued to change in recent years, every little bit helps,” Jones says.

The contest is sponsored by the Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance Company. You can vote once a day during the two week voting period ending June 16th.
