A combine is lost but no one is injured following a fire south of Jacksonville on Sunday.

According to Assistant Chief Brian Glascock with the South Jacksonville Fire Department, fire crews from his agency responded to a call regarding a tractor fire near the intersection of Finch Road and Leach Farm Road.

Glascock says South Jacksonville Fire crews arrived at the scene Sunday afternoon near Finch farms. He says there was a combine on fire when crews arrived, with flames coming out of the back of the tractor.

According to authorities, the combine was owned by Tim Finch on a lease from Sloan Implement, and due to damage sustained in the fire, the combine was deemed a total loss.

Glascock says South Jacksonville Fire was on the scene for around an hour, and that no other agencies responded.

The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time.
