Normal temps, below-normal rain levels in May in Jacksonville

One record was broken for low temperatures in Jacksonville last month.

We reached 36 degrees for a low on May 14th, breaking a low record of 37 degrees set in 1936.

We averaged a temperature of nearly 64 degrees, which is about a degree above normal. We ended the month with eight days of highs in the mid-80s.

The WLDS-WEAI recording station measured 2.89 inches of rain. The normal amount for the month of May is over four and a half. Nearly three-quarters of an inch was recorded on the morning of the 27th.
