An interim superintendent has reportedly been named for North Greene High School.
The Jacksonville Journal-Courier reports former Winchester superintendent Lawrence Coultas will replace Les Stevens, who is retiring at the end of the school year.
Stevens told the newspaper the current North Greene Elementary School principal, Mark Scott, is working on his superintendent endorsement at Western Illinois University. Scott has been with the district since 2001. He hopes to be certified and step into the North Greene superintendent position by 2017.
The plan is for Scott to be mentored by Coultas, who is under a one-year contract. The newspaper reports North Greene Junior-Senior High School assistant principal Mark Darr will take over the elementary principal position.
