One of the police dispatchers arrested last summer for alleged wrongdoing in Greene County has reached a plea deal.
Amanda Morrow was charged for theft and unlawful possession of a controlled substance last June along with fellow dispatcher Michele Stewart. Former acting Roodhouse police chief Steve Settles was also arrested for unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and official misconduct.
Morrow and Stewart were accused of taking prescription meds from a storage area at the White Hall Police Station. Both were employed as dispatchers in Roodhouse and White Hall.
Morrow pleaded guilty last Thursday in Greene County Court to possession of a controlled substance. The theft charge was dismissed. She was fined $1,350, ordered to serve probation and perform community service.
Sources indicate Morrow resigned from her dispatcher position after the story first broke last year, and that Stewart and Settles are also no longer employed in their former positions.
Settles and Stewart have court appearances scheduled in the second half of March.
