There’s one less piece of playground equipment in Jacksonville’s Community Park.

Director of Community Development and Recreational Facilities Kelly Hall tells WLDS-WEAI News that the park toy was removed by Parks and Lakes employees this week.

Hall proposed a new toy to replace the one that was just removed in the park during a City Council meeting last November.

“That toy has been removed because of its age and its condition. It was very unsafe, and we did not want any child injured or hurt while playing on that toy,” says Hall.

Hall Says the new, all-inclusive toy will be installed in the springtime.

This will be the second new toy installed in Community Park. The Kiwanis Club raised $55-thousand for a new set in 2014.
