A part-time corrections officer at the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department spent time behind bars this morning.
25-year-old Dalton Johnson of the 100 Block of Labor was arrested by the Jacksonville Police Department at around 8:30 for DUI and speeding too fast for conditions.
South Jacksonville Police Chief Richard Evans confirmed that officers responded to the 300 block of Labor Drive after reports from neighbors that someone was passed out behind the wheel.
Evans noted that when officers arrived, the car Johnson was driving appeared to have struck a parked vehicle and caused minor damage.
Johnson was booked at the Morgan County Jail at around 10:15 and has been released on bond.
Morgan County Sheriff Randy Duvendack says that disciplinary actions will “definitely be considered” once he reviews the information.
