The hospital has added full-time French and Spanish interpreters, according to a press release. They’ll be available for interpreting for patients, as well as translating documents like care notes.
The French interpreter, Youssef Tazi, a Morocco native, has provided part-time services since 2009. He also translates Arabic.
Kate McGinnis is the Spanish interpreter who completed Spanish classes at Eastern Illinois University. She’s also a certified nurse assistant who has previously provided interpretation services for the hospital, as well.
