Passavant Area Hospital is one of 844 hospitals in the country to receive an “A” ranking when it comes to safety.
The grade was handed out by The Leapfrog Group, a national patient safety watchdog.
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades include A, B, C, D and F letter grades to hospitals based on records of patient safety. The scores are calculated twice a year by top patient safety experts and are fully transparent and free to the public.
Passavant CEO Doug Rahn said that, “Our improvements in patient safety do not happen by accident. It has taken meaningful effort and structural changes. Two years ago we restricted our approach to quality and operational improvement. Leanna Wynn and Charles Sheaff have really helped guide our improvement efforts, but our score is truly a team effort.
