The Pike County Farm Bureau is raising opposition to the transmission pipeline that would run through the county.
Board of directors voted against the Grain Belt Express Clean Line during a meeting on March 11th.
According to a press release, the Farm Bureau chose not to grant GBECL public utility status and eminent domain authority from the Illinois Commerce Commission.
The board claims the project has failed to show how the transmission line will benefit Illinois.
The Pike County Farm Bureau will assist its members who oppose GBECL, while continuing to provide information on easements and other aspect of the project.
