Although Saturday marked the conclusion of the 10-week Levitt Amp Concert Series, free musical performances will still be offered in Jacksonville for the rest of the summer.

Pilot Club member Vicki Austin is the organizer of the Concert in the Park Series, which started in early June and wraps up at the end of August.

Austin believes the Concert in the Park Series dates back almost 20 years.

“We decided to plan one every Sunday in the summer. That is kind of the way it has worked out. Usually it is 40-50 people that come, but some groups are more popular than others. We’ve had a variety of gospel groups, traditional American songs and the community summer band,” says Austin.

Austin says the Pilot Club enjoys providing positive entertainment for the community. Guests are asked to bring a lawn chair, relax and enjoy the music.

The concerts run from 6-7 p.m. at the big bandstand in Community Park.
