Jacksonville Police arrested two men last night after discovering an alleged meth lab on the north side of town.

Fifty-year-old Brian Keith Morris and 38-year-old Franklin Mullens of the 800 block of North Diamond were arrested at their residence at around 11:15 p.m.

Morris was arrested for participation in methamphetamine manufacturing, meth-manufacturing materials, meth precursors, possession of a controlled substance and use of property to make the drug. Mullens was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance.

Jacksonville Police Lieutenant Sean Walker says police received a report that someone else who was in the North Diamond house was in illegal possession of a gun. Police then reportedly discovered the meth lab. Walker says the Illinois State Police Meth Response Team was called in.

Walker says there was finished meth product, but he doesn’t know how much.

Morris and Mullens remain in custody.
