By Gary Scott on November 17, 2015 at 7:18am

Things start off with a special meeting to hear a presentation of the annual audit report at 6:15. Later on, board members will vote on a resolution for estimated amounts necessary for 2015 tax levies, and a resolution to abate taxes levied for 2015 to pay debt service on general obligation school bonds.

There will be an update on the ongoing saga with 8 Points Charter School and the decision whether or not to renew the contract with the charter, which includes a resolution regarding the school as an action item.

Board members will also vote on the consideration of amendments for the additions being made to Jacksonville Middle School and the consideration of a collective bargaining agreement for teachers at the Early Years pre-kindergarten program.

The consent agenda includes eleven board policy adoptions, as well as school resource officer agreements and consideration of overnight trips.

Board members will have the chance to vote on the first and second readings of fifteen other policy updates.

The school board will recognize several teachers, as this is American Education Week.

The regular portion of the meeting begins at 7 p.m. at Jacksonville High School.
