Governor Bruce Rauner is asking President Obama to reconsider the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s recent denial of Illinois’ request for assistance in the aftermath of flooding across the state in December and January.

The appeal includes about one-point-eight-million dollars in additional qualifying costs and spells out additional factors the state says justify its requests for the assistance for local governments in 17 counties, including Morgan and Cass.

U.S. Senators Dick Durbin and Mark Kirk are also asking the President to reconsider.
