Registration has started for more than 30 Girls on the Run of Central Illinois teams.
The ten-week program, which caters to local schools and community programs, works with an estimated 375 local third through eighth grade students.
Openings are still available at the following locations: Auburn Middle School, Brown County Elementary, Illini Central Grade School, New Berlin Elementary and Junior High, Our Saviour, Springfield Christian, Tri-City Elementary and Franklin Middle School.
Girls on the Run uses an experience-based curriculum, which integrates running to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident.
Girls on the Run of Central Illinois hit a milestone this year: registering their 6,500th girl since the program started in 2004.
