A McDonough County woman was killed in a single vehicle accident in Schuyler County early Friday morning.

According to reports from Illinois State Police District 20, 28-year old Roxanne Snider, of Plymouth, died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.

Preliminary investigative reports from state police claim Snider was traveling northbound on Birmingham-Center Road a little more than a mile north of Liberty Road in Schuyler County when the crash occurred at around 6 a.m. Friday.

Reports say Snider’s 1992 Geo Tracker ran off of the left side of the roadway, causing her to over-correct and as a result lose control of the vehicle. Snider’s vehicle then traveled off the right side of the roadway and eventually struck a telephone poll.

According to reports, Snider was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. Responding agencies included Schuyler County EMS, Schuyler County Fire and Rescue, as well as deputies with the Schuyler County Sheriff’s Department.

Schuyler County EMS then transported Snider from the scene to Culbertson Hospital in Rushville, where she eventually died as a result of the injuries.
