A Winchester man involved in a motorcycle accident last week in Morgan County has died from his injuries.

Sixty-nine-year-old Wayne Stice was pronounced dead by the Sangamon County Coroner at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield yesterday afternoon shortly before 1:15.

Chief Deputy Coroner Jim Allmon says a cause of death is yet to be determined, pending toxicology reports.

Reports indicate 22-year-old Stephanie Watkins of Mechanicsburg was driving east on Old Route 36 last Friday morning when she attempted to make a left turn behind a large farm implement at the Morgan-Sangamon County border.

According to reports, Stice was traveling west, and his Harley Davidson was clipped by the Pontiac being driven by Watkins, causing Stice to be shot into the air upon collision.

Watkins was issued a citation for failure to yield while turning left.

Correction: We have corrected the direction the motorcycle was traveling along Old Route 36.
