Scott County is proposing an intergovernmental agreement for dog control in all of the village’s municipalities.
Scott County Commissioner Bob Schafer says currently, the county animal control covers unincorporated areas. This agreement would fill in the gaps.
“Winchester and Bluffs have their own dog ordinance, I think, in place. We thought we needed something that would provide some services with the municipalities, the small villages, here in the county,” he says.
And Schafer adds the agreement, if agreed to, would clarify jurisdiction on animal control in Scott County.
