The Jacksonville community is preparing to “Share The Love” next month at Spirit of Faith Soup Kitchen and Community Center in downtown Jacksonville.

Kathy Jo Littleton-Wahl talked about the “Share The Love” Foundation on WLDS’ “What’s On Your Mind?” program yesterday.

Littleton-Wahl says “Share The Love” has been running for five years and has been instrumental in bringing the community together one step at a time.

“If you are a family that needs some help with clothing or some food, we also pass out personal hygiene and cleaning products. There is no application, other than we do like to know how many people are in your family,” says Littleton-Wahl.

Littleton-Wahl says “Share the Love” will welcome donations of tomatoes, corn, cream of mushroom soup, ham, chicken, potatoes and onions.

Littleton-Wahl says more than 350 individuals were assisted last year, and as always, anyone in the community is welcome. The event this year takes place on April 2nd.

“There will be break and milk provided by Community Christian Church, UCC will provide tuna and Our Redeemer will bring corn. We will have a personal shopper for the family that will guide you through the items you can look at. As they exit, the family receives the hygiene bags, cleaning buckets and grocery sack,” says Littleton-Wahl.

The grocery sack will feature healthy food and recipes for families.
