A man who was fatally shot by Missouri police during an incident last week has ties to our area.
Thirty-five-year-old Nicholas Booth of Ozark, Missouri reportedly led police on a vehicle pursuit in Independence, Missouri after an armed carjacking. Last Tuesday.
According to media reports, Booth exited his vehicle during the pursuit, pointed a gun at officers and began shooting. Officers reportedly returned fire, fatally striking Booth. No officers were injured during the incident.
According to information provided in an obituary, Booth is formerly from White Hall, and some friends and family still live there.
Funeral services for Booth were held today at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in White Hall, with burial at Pine Tree Cemetery near Patterson.
