After months of discussion, South Jacksonville trustees appear ready to vote on a golf cart ordinance for the village.

During a committee meeting last week, trustees added slow moving vehicles and utility vehicles to the ordinance.

Trustees agreed to “mirror” the Jacksonville ordinance, which requires headlights, turn signals, safety triangles and license plates in order to be street legal.

Other action at the meeting includes the contract announcement for the Concert in the Cornfield, an update on the South Jacksonville Celebration and details involving an addition to Love’s Travel Stops & County Stores.

The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at Village Hall. A public hearing to discuss appropriation ordinances will start at 6:45 p.m.
