Members of the Jacksonville and South Jacksonville Fire Departments hosed down three Pampered Pachyderms of the Carson and Barnes Circus at the Prairieland Heritage Grounds to kick off the circus that was held last night.
The process takes gallons of specially-formulated “beauty soap” and hundreds of gallons of fresh water, according to a press release.
Jacksonville firefighter Brian Gillespie was a lucky firefighter who got to do the deed.
And of course, there were plenty of kids watching with enthusiasm, like four-year-old Faye Tucker.
This is the 79th year for the Carson and Barnes Circus, which makes yearly stops in Jacksonville. The circus is moving on to Missouri for the rest of this month.
