The Jacksonville school board made the hiring of a new wrestling coach official last night.
Zach Stout has taken over the position, after the previous coach, Dustin Secrist resigned in May. Secrist was pursuing a career in the private sector.
Under Secrist, JHS has had multiple state qualifiers in his four years. And, the girls’ wrestling program has grown, with several state qualifiers.
Zach Stout is a 2015 graduate of JHS. He was a wrestler and played football. Stout was a regional wrestling title holder, and qualified for the state meet in 2015.
He went on to wrestle at Missouri Baptist for two years, and eventually, graduated from the University of Missouri in St Louis with a bachelor’s degree and a secondary emphasis in social studies.
He has been a social studies teacher at JHS since 2020, and a member of the wrestling staff for the past four years.
