A Jacksonville man arrested in connection to an October shooting in the city has been sentenced.
Thirty-two-year-old Perry Sykes of the 800 block of North Clay was sentenced to five years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for reckless discharge of a firearm. Sykes was also given a one year mandatory supervised release.
Officers received a report of shots fired in the 1100 block of North Clay in the early morning hours of October 11th. Upon arrival, officers located a black female with a gunshot wound. Evidence was recovered during the investigation that indicates multiple shots were fired.
