South Jacksonville board of trustee members will cast their vote on the recent tax levy ordinance during tonight’s board meeting.
The first reading of the tax levy was approved during the November meeting. If approved, there would be an overall increase of about one percent on property taxes for residents of the village.
As an example, South Jacksonville Mayor Gordon Jumper says that someone with an average property tax of around $2,000 a year will see their taxes go up $20.
In other action tonight, board members will approve the South East Street extension project that Prairie Power recently completed.
In yearly fashion, a list of the village meeting and holiday schedules must also be voted on tonight.
The meeting begins at 7:00 at the Village Hall Board Room.
