An open lecture discussing a classic American novel will be held on the campus of Illinois College Thursday.
Novelist Alice Randall, the 2015 Khalaf Al Habtoor Lecturer, will revisit “To Kill a Mockingbird” in the McGraw Fine Arts Center at 7 p.m.
Randall will provide a lecture entitled Atticus Revisited, which explores issues of justice, diversity, peace building and leadership.
Randall will also touch on the impact Harper Lee’s renowned novel has on the current context of race in America.
Aside from a writer-in-residence at Vanderbilt University, Randall works as a professor and songwriter.
The lecture is free and open to the public.
