Two arrested in Jacksonville meth bust

A pair of Jacksonville residents were arrested in a meth bust this morning.

According to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to a house in the 300 block of East Douglas at around 12:45 a.m.

Sheriff Randy Duvendack describes the action taken by deputies.

“They went there to follow up on information regarding a meth cook. They encountered several subjects and at least four people were there. They were granted access to the residence and they found an active meth lab. They did see some quantity,” says Duvendack.

Forty-year-old Kelly Nelson, residing at the searched house, was booked at the Morgan County Jail at 5:30 a.m. for aggravated participation in meth manufacturing, meth manufacturing material and use of property to violate theĀ  meth control act.

Thirty-year-old Lindsey Boys, of the 300 block of South West, was booked at the county jail at around 5 a.m. for aggravated participation in meth manufacturing.

Nelson and Boys remain in custody.
