Two people from Greene County are in jail this morning after being arrested for marijuana distribution.

Fifty-year-old Beverly Murrow and 56-year-old Jimmy Crain, both of Roodhouse, were booked at the Greene County Jail Wednesday afternoon for unlawful possession of between 500 and 2,000 grams of cannabis, intent to deliver, and cannabis trafficking.

According to a Greene County Sheriff’s Office press release, deputies, city police in the county and the state police drug task force executed a search warrant at the residence of the pair, in the 400 block of West Palm Street, Wednesday afternoon.

Police say they found “a large amount of” pot, several thousand dollars in cash and “other evidence to support the charges”.

Crain was also booked for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon after deputies reportedly located weapons in the property.

Police say they seized several items of personal property and several vehicles belonging to Crain and Murrow they believe were purchased from the proceeds of illegal drug sales, or used to traffic cannabis into Greene County.

Both Crain and Murrow remain in custody at the Greene County Jail.
