Twenty-two-year-old Austin Volk of Meredosia was booked at the Morgan County Jail at around 6:15 a.m. Sunday for two counts of aggravated battery.

Police Lieutenant Sean Walker says two separate incidents happened at Lahey’s Lounge at 311 West State at around 1:45 a.m Sunday and at a residence in the 900 block of West Lafayette at around 2:15.

According to reports, a victim suffered a stab wound on the neck in the first incident. While the Lafayette incident isn’t being classified as a stab wound, Walker says the victim suffered knife-related facial injuries.

Walker says Volk was arrested shortly after the second incident. He says neither victim knew him.

Walker says both victims were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

In a separate incident, 26-year-old Micah Taylor of Woodson was booked at the Morgan County Jail at around 9:15 yesterday morning for aggravated assault and domestic battery.

Walker says Taylor slapped a victim in the face and had a stun gun, but didn’t use it. He says possession of the weapon warranted the aggravated assault portion of the arrest. That incident allegedly took place in the 800 block of Allen at around 8:30 Sunday morning.

Both Volk and Taylor remain in custody.
