The Prairieland United Way is reminding the public of a pair of special events happening over the next week.

On Thursday, Jacksonville businesses are encouraged to participate in the citywide Jean Day. Employees are asked to donate $5 to wear jeans to work.

The donation will go towards the local United Way’s campaign goal of $35-thousand.

The United Way will also hold a Day of Action on September 26th. Individuals, teams and companies are invited to Jacksonville High School and Eisenhower to assist with general landscape, cleanup, mulching and more.

Participants are asked to bring gloves, tools, rakes and trimmers if they are available. The event starts at 8 a.m. and everyone is asked to meet at JHS.
