A vehicle caught fire on the Woodson-Franklin blacktop Friday afternoon.

Woodson Assistant Fire Chief Gary Marlow says the Woodson Fire Department responded to a vehicle fully engulfed on the blacktop, just west of Route 67, at around 2:45 p.m.

Marlow says the driver was traveling down the blacktop and pulled over after she thought her air conditioning stopped working. After exiting the vehicle she began to see smoke and sparks underneath the car.

Woodson firefighters put out the blaze in under thirty minutes. No injuries were reported and the vehicle has been listed as a total loss.
