Virginia Superintendent Brent O’Daniell confirmed with WLDS/WEAI News that Jason Vicich stepped down from his position this morning to pursue the completion of a doctoral degree at the University of Arkansas.
Due to the short notice of Vicich’s departure, O’Daniell says Virginia may go through some initial challenges. He expressed his confidence in the Virginia School District staff to work together for the next few months to fill the void of Vicich.
“The staff has been very cooperative and understanding through the process and procedure. Junior/Senior High School Principal Aaron Llewellyn, myself and all the staff are pooling our resources while we search for a replacement,” says O’Daniell.
O’Daniell says Vicich’s dedication to the Virginia School District will be missed.
“I would be hard pressed to find someone as good with data and curriculum as Jason was. He was my go-to guy for curriculum and anytime we needed to crunch data he is the one that did that for us. He was very good at it,” says O’Daniell.
O’Daniell says Vicich spent six years in the Virginia School District and the past three as Elementary Principal.
