Twenty-three-year-old Michael Timmons was booked at the Morgan County Jail at around 7 p.m. last night for possession of child pornography, aggravated criminal sexual abuse, and violation of sex offender registration.

Chief Deputy Mike Carmody told the Jacksonville Journal-Courier the sheriff’s department received a report on November 6th that a registered sex offender in Waverly had a picture of a girl between the ages of 13 and 17 on a cell phone.

A search warrant was executed at Timmons’ home, and several items thought to contain child porn were reportedly seized. Carmody also told the city paper that Timmons is believed to have sexual contact with a girl between the ages of 13 and 17, based on the sheriff’s office’s investigation.

Timmons remains in custody.
