The National Weather Service says Morgan, Cass, Greene and Scott Counties are under the “slight risk” category for severe thunderstorms today, with damaging winds and isolated tornadoes being the primary threat.

Large hail is also possible southeast of the Illinois River, and officials say heavy downpours can be expected. A total of two to four inches of rainfall is expected between Friday and Monday nights, with Greene County expecting a possible three to six inches.

Much of the Illinois River will remain in flood stage through at least early next week.
