Mother Nature just about took all the gifts already lying around the trees of West Central Illinois homes on Wednesday and tossed them in the air.

A Tornado Warning was issued by the National Weather Service yesterday shortly after 4 p-m for the northwestern portions of Morgan and Scott Counties, plus southwestern Cass County, as a line of nasty-looking storms blew through.

Reports of a funnel cloud were issued near Griggsville and Meredosia, but ultimately, the storm weakened as it crossed the Illinois River.

Yesterday’s storms caused some trouble in eastern Illinois, as there were reports of a shed blown down and a roof partially torn off in Macon County.
