Most notable is improved use of color and graphics to help customers track the amount of energy they are using, with tips and strategies to help them use less and save more.
Ameren Spokeswoman Marcelyn Love says customers will have a better understanding of the components of the bill and why certain charges are calculated.
“This is really about improving service to our customers by giving them more information to help control their energy use and be able to manage costs,” she says.
Love says the changes have already received a positive review.
“Our new bill statement incorporates input from customer focus groups that were held throughout our service territory. It was validated with nearly 900 customers through online surveys and a diverse group of Ameren Illinois employees to also provide insight and input,” says Love.
