The ongoing drama at South Jacksonville Village Hall over the leak of a draft legal memorandum has forced the hand of the Village’s Board of Trustees to take action.

In a rare move, South Jacksonville Trustees have called a special meeting tonight in accordance with the Illinois Municipal Code and alleged violations of the Open Meetings Act.

The agenda for tonight’s special meeting contains just two action items, both of which likely pertain to numerous complaints made to the Attorney General’s office regarding FOIA requests.

The first item to be discussed is the removal of Village Clerk Dani Glascock from the position of FOIA officer. That decision could create ripple effects for the upcoming April Election, as Glascock is running for Village President. Trustees will also look at approving an independent investigation into possible misconduct related to the leak of the draft legal memorandum.

Trustees have included a portion of the meeting to allow public comment, as well as statements regarding the unauthorized release of the aforementioned draft legal memorandum. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the South Jacksonville Village Hall board room.
