HALLOWEEN EVENTS
Prairie State Bank and Trust in Jacksonville will be hosting a trunk-or-treat Thursday, October 17 from 5:30-7:30 PM.
Jacksonville Main Street will host their annual Pumpkin Festival on the city square Saturday, October 19th from 10 AM-2 PM. A petting zoo, face painting, a pie eating contest, and a costume contest are just a few of the many activities available! Cost is $10 per child.
The city of Virginia is hosting their Jack-o-lantern Spooktacular Saturday, October 19th at Jennie Marr Dunaway Memorial Park, located at 701 N Morgan St. Art in the Park starts at 8 AM and the Halloween parade starts at 6:30 PM. Wristbands are available for purchase at Petefish Skiles & Co. Bank in Virginia and from park board members.
Drive-Thru trick-or-treating on Thursday, October 24th from 4-6 PM at Prairie Land Heritage Museum grounds. Please enter through Gate 6 on Greenwood Ave. in South Jacksonville.
Trunk-or-treating on the city of Virginia square will happen on Friday, October 25th from 5:30-7:30 PM.
Come trick-or-treat at the Jacksonville Hy-Vee Saturday, October 26th from 10 AM-1 PM. Costumes are encouraged and there will be fun Halloween activities for the whole family!
The city of Greenfield will have a costume competition and camper decorating competition Saturday, October 26th at the Greenfield Rives Lake pavillion starting at 6 PM. Rives Lake is located at 2250 E, Greenfield.
Midwest Youth Services is hosting a trunk-or-treat Monday, October 28, from 5:30-7 PM at 2001 W. Lafayette Ave. in Jacksonville. The event is free to attend and will host a car decorating contest. All youth in attendance will receive a free Halloween basket, and a dinner of a hotdog, chips, cookie, and drink will be provided. Call 217-245-6000 with any questions. Trick-or-treating for the city of Virginia will take place Thursday, October 31st from 4-9 PM.
Jacksonville Area Convention & Visitors Bureau is sponsoring a trick-or-treating event on Thursday, October 31st, from 4:30-7:30 PM at Knights Inn, Super 8, Best Western, and Hampton Inn on Morton Ave. Each location will have a different goodie as well as sweet treat for the trick-or-treaters. Locally designed Jacksonville Activity Books will also be available at one of the locations (limited quantities available).
