The Central State Eight Conference is reportedly ready to add a new member school.
The State Journal Register reports today that CS8 officials today announced that Normal University High School will join the league for the 2017-18 school year.
The move will keep the CS8 conference at 10 teams. Lincoln High School will leave the conference after the 2016-17 school year to join the Apollo Conference.
The CS-8 has been at ten teams, ideal for football, since Taylorville left the conference after the 2013-14 school year, and the Decatur schools, MacArthur and Eisenhower replaced the Tornadoes.
Normal U High has been a part of the Corn Belt Conference, which is now down to 6 teams.
Normal U High has an enrollment of 606, but with a multiplier, the enrollment jumps to just over 1-thousand students. Normal U high is a non-boundary, public high school.
Jacksonville would become Normal U High’s longest road trip of the CS8.
