There’s plenty on the agenda for the first City Council meeting in the month of March in Jacksonville.

Aldermen will discuss a conceptual master plan for the Jacksonville PetSafe dog park before voting on a resolution to approve it. Student engineers from the University of Illinois will be available at City Hall at 5:00 to go over the plan with the general public.

City Council is also scheduled to vote on a resolution approving a safe yield proposal for Lake Jacksonville and Lake Mauvaisterre.

In Planning and Public Works agenda items, aldermen will vote on a the first reading of an ordinance allowing backyard chickens in city residences, plus an ordinance for the usage of street-legal golf carts and UTVs.

Aldermen also have a resolution scheduled to vote on regarding the execution of a Collective Bargaining Agreement between the city and Laborers’ International Union of North America Local 477, from 2016 to 2020.

Tonight’s workshop begins at 6:30, followed by the regular session.
