Out of an abundance of caution, the Illinois State Police and IDOT have closed I-55 between milepost 63 and 82 due to extreme winds creating low visibility and dangerous driving conditions.
No crashed have occurred today, however the road will be closed until the winds decrease.
Low visibilty has also been reported on the Woodson Franklin Road and other Morgan County roads. Please use caution when traveling.
