A Cass County judge is reducing the bond amount of a former Western Illinois prosecutor charged with murdering his wife.

KHQA-TV reports Judge Bob Hardwick made the decision yesterday regarding the bond amount for former Adams County assistant state’s attorney Curtis Lovelace, which dropped from $5-million to $3.5-million. It hasn’t been reported yet that Lovelace has posted bond, as of this morning..

Lovelace allegedly killed his first wife, Cory, on Valentine’s Day in 2006. His new trial is scheduled to start in October.
