The Central Illinois Foodbank was recognized Tuesday as one of the nation’s pre-eminent nonprofit organizations. It’s one of fewer than 50 of the 8,000 non-profits to earn a 4-star, perfect 100 rating for financial strength and accountability.

Our news partners at WICS ABC Newschannel 20 caught up with Central Illinois Foodbank Executive Director Pam Molitoris after the presentation.

“The thing I pride ourselves most on is that we have moved within our means.  We have maintained the growth and revenue over the last several years and that puts us in a position when things are tough today, we are still able to say we can meet the needs of the community.”                                                                         :

The Central Illinois Foodbank was established in 1982 and covers a 21-county region, including Morgan, Greene, Cass and Scott Counties.
