A Champaign County man is dead after he was struck by a semi last week near Bluffs.
The Scott County Times reports that 34-year old Tyler A. Faulkner of Champaign was struck and killed by a semi last Tuesday, April 9th. According to a report from the Illinois State Police, Faulkner had parked his Chevy Camaro on the right shoulder of the eastbound lane of Interstate 72 at Mile Marker 44, about 2 miles west of the Bluffs exit at approximately midnight.
A semi-tractor trailer also traveling in the eastbound lane changed from the right to the left lane, and according to the report, Faulkner stepped out into the lane of traffic and was struck by the semi. Faulkner was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Scott County Coroner’s Office.
The driver of the semi and and a passenger were uninjured. No further information on the incident is available.
