Chipman family named 2016 United Way chairs

A Jacksonville family is taking the reins of the Prairieland United Way Campaign.

According to Executive Director Karen Walker, Bob and Janet Chipman, as well as Timothy and Stephanie Chipman, have been named chairs of the 2016 campaign.

Bob Chipman is the Managing Broker of Chipman Realtors & Appraisers, Janet has worked several decades as a teacher at North Elementary and Turner Junior High, Tim is an assistant principal at Jacksonville High School and Stephanie is vice president of enrollment and marketing at Illinois College.

The Chipman family replaces Representative CD Davidsmeyer and his wife, Kristen.

The local United Way program sets a yearly goal of raising $530,000 for

health, education and employment-related services in Morgan, Scott, Cass and Greene counties.

The kickoff breakfast is set for September 1st at the Jacksonville YMCA.
