COVID-19 Numbers Hit Records In Some Counties Over the Weekend

The Morgan County Health Department has announced 103 new COVID-19 cases yesterday and from over the weekend. The Health Department also received notice of an outbreak at Pathway. Six employees have tested positive for COVID-19. With yesterday’s cases, Morgan County has now had 1,348 total cases with 30 deaths in the county. There are currently 193 active cases, with 25 of those hospitalized. 445 people remain in quarantine.

On Saturday, the Brown County Public Health Department announced its first death related to COVID-19. The resident was a male in his 60s. As of Saturday, Brown County was tracking 56 active COVID cases.

The Macoupin County Health Department has seen their COVID-19 numbers double with over 260 cases confirmed for Macoupin County residents during the first week of November. For the entire month of October, 280 cases were confirmed for the county.

The Cass County Health Department confirmed 45 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. 13 new cases were a part of the weekend’s numbers and 32 were from yesterday. Five of the 45 new cases were linked to a long-term care facility outbreak. Health Department officials also announced an additional death, a male in his 70s. It is the 13th death in Cass County associated with COVID-19. Cass County’s overall COVID-19 case count is now at 610, with 129 of those currently active, and 5 active cases hospitalized.

Schuyler County announced 10 new cases since their previous update on Thursday. Schuyler County has had 125 overall cases, with 17 currently active.

Greene County Health officials announced 33 new community acquired cases yesterday. Greene County’s overall case count is now at 537, with 116 cases currently active.

Pike County Health officials 54 new community acquired cases of COVID-19 yesterday. The Pike County Health Department also received confirmation of an additional death yesterday, a female in her 80s. Pike County’s overall COVID-19 case count is 649, of those 157 are active, with 10 being hospitalized. Pike County has now had 10 deaths attributed to the virus.

The State of Illinois had a record number of new positives yesterday at 10,573.
