Things start off light for Jacksonville aldermen in their first City Council meeting of 2016.

The big item for tonight’s meeting is an intergovernmental agreement with Morgan County regarding the Regional Planning Commission. Discussion will be held in a workshop before a vote is taken on a resolution.

Jacksonville Mayor Andy Ezard says Dusty Douglas, the Morgan County Planning Director, will give an update on revamping the commission.

Prior to tonight’s meeting there’s a Utilities Committee meeting to discuss the Lake Mauvaisterre Watershed Project. That’s at 6:00. The regular meeting is at 6:30.

It’s all in the Jacksonville Municipal Building on West Douglas.
