Hy-Vee is coming to Jacksonville.

The Journal Courier reports that Hy-Vee has bought the County Market on West Morton Avenue. Tina Potthoff, senior vice president of communications for Hy-Vee, told the Journal-Courier that the sale was revealed to employees yesterday.

No specifics about the deal have been released. Tom Harmon, who privately owns the County Market brand in Jacksonville, has not released a statement on the sale.

Hy-Vee is an employee-owned chain of supermarkets that operates mainly in the Midwest, with more than 280 locations.

The closest Hy-Vee stores before the purchase were in Quincy and Springfield.

This story was corrected from a previous version that identified Niemann Foods as the owner of the County Market in Jacksonville. We apologize for this mistake.
