Local basketball fans will have a chance for free admission to two tournament games this week.
The Illinois College men’s basketball team is offering free admission to the Friday semifinal doubleheader of the Bill Merris Tournament if fans bring in a toy for the Toys for Tots drive.
Games get underway at 5:30 p.m. on Friday with the first matchup between Carroll University and Central College. Following that one, the IC Blueboys will square off with Lincoln Christian University at approximately 7:30 p.m.
Admission is based on one toy per person. Toys must be in their original packaging in order to be donated to the cause. A Toys for Tots box will also be out in the Bruner Center Concourse on Saturday during the football/swimming/men’s basketball quadruple-header, although free admission is not available that afternoon.
